Offenbach city centre is the heart of the city: retail, dining and everyday supplies are within walking distance in and around the Frankfurter Straße pedestrian zone. Beneath the centre runs the City-Tunnel with four S-Bahn lines, so Frankfurt is reachable in a few minutes. For assembly teams, that means short distances for supplies after work and a fast connection to job sites in Offenbach and Frankfurt, even without a company car. Our fully equipped apartments are centrally located in Offenbach.
Four S-Bahn lines in the City-Tunnel
Beneath the city centre runs the City-Tunnel Offenbach with the underground stations Marktplatz and Ledermuseum. The S1, S2, S8 and S9 lines stop there. The base frequency is 30 minutes per line and increases at peak times; because several lines overlap, trains towards Frankfurt run considerably more often.
Around 10 minutes to Frankfurt
From Offenbach Marktplatz, the city puts it at around 10 minutes to the centre of Frankfurt and 15 minutes to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof; with the S8 or S9, the airport is reached in just under 30 minutes. For jobs in Frankfurt and at the airport, the S-Bahn is often enough.
Pedestrian zone and KOMM
According to the city, Frankfurter Straße is the shopping axis of the city centre. Right on the pedestrian zone, the KOMM at Aliceplatz brings together around 50 shops across three floors. Everyday supplies, retail and dining are therefore reachable without a car.
Weekly market on Wilhelmsplatz
Three times a week, the weekly market on Wilhelmsplatz supplies the city centre with fresh food, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. For teams that cook for themselves, the shopping is done on foot.
Parking on site
The city centre is paid parking: across three parking zones, parking ticket machines govern parking, plus there are residents' parking zones (residents' permit 75 euros a year). Trades and commercial businesses can use the tradesperson parking permit of the city of Offenbach for the Frankfurt RheinMain region, which lets company vehicles park on a local job in restricted no-stopping areas, residents' parking zones and paid parking areas. That way the van stands legally at the site.
